City of Cambridge Launches Sustainable Cambridge and Celebrates Earth Month
The City of Cambridge has officially launched Sustainable Cambridge, a new initiative that encompasses all of Cambridge’s efforts to address climate change while keeping the community welcoming, neighborly, and beautiful. The City of Cambridge and Cambridge Public Schools (CPS) are proud to announce the opening of the new Tobin Montessori and Darby Vassall Upper Schools and Community Complex. Officially opening on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, the state-of-the-art building replaces the former school facility located between Vassal Lane, Concord Avenue, and Alpine Street in West Cambridge.
City Yard Waste Pickup Resumes April 3rd
The City of Cambridge offers residential curbside collection of Yard Waste from April 1 through December 31. Yard waste is banned from all landfills and incinerators in Massachusetts. This includes all leaves, grass, plants, shrub pruning and twigs. Place them on to the curb on your regular collection day by 7am or after 6pm the night before.
