2018 Resident Survey Results
The results from this survey indicate that overall resident views of the City of Cambridge remain positive—although some key measures have reverted back to less positive 2014 levels. On perhaps the most all encompassing measure of resident sentiment, “extreme” satisfaction with overall experiences with the city
remains at the record high level for the 18-year history of this survey program.
Permitted Leaf Blower List
This is a complete list of Licensed Commercial Leaf Blowers within the City of Cambridge. Please keep in mind that you are not required to be permitted by the City unless you have two or more employees who operate leaf blowers on staff. All persons operating Leaf Blowers in the City of Cambridge, commercial or residential, must comply with the Leaf Blower Ordinance.
MassDOT Advisory: Cambridge Somerville Sidewalk Closures Along Route 28 (McGrath Highway)
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced that daytime concrete sidewalk repairs are taking place on Route 28 (McGrath Highway) northbound between Third Street and Rufo Road. Pedestrian detours started on September 30 and will remain in place at all times for approximately three weeks. During this time, the outbound bus stop opposite Twin City Plaza will be relocated to 201 Monsignor O’Brien Highway, just south of Third Street.
Cambridge Arts Open Studios Is This Weekend
The annual Cambridge Arts Open Studios will take place all across Cambridge on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21 and 22, 2024, from noon to 6 p.m. each day. The citywide event celebrates all the creativity that is Cambridge. Shop for paintings, prints, clothing, ceramics, and all sorts of locally-made creations when you visit artists' studios and in group exhibitions in Common Venues throughout the city.
Cambridge Commemorates End of COVID-19 Public Health Emergency
Today marks the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency in Massachusetts and the country.
The City of Cambridge marked this somber occasion with an event at the COVID-19 memorial located at the Cambridge Cemetery. Cambridge Peace Commission Executive Director Brian Corr, Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui, City Manager Yi-An Huang, and Chief Public Health Officer Derrick Neil spoke at the event and placed flowers next to the memorial.
