On March 31, Governor Baker extended the stay-at-home advisory and non-essential business closure that was set to expire on April 7 until May 4, the same date that schools are to remain closed until. The 10-person limit on gatherings in the state has been extended as well, following a similar extension by the federal government.

The City of Cambridge announced that it has rescinded its Amended Temporary Emergency Construction Order issued on June 22, 2020. The City of Cambridge issued an emergency order requiring that face coverings be worn in all public places, businesses and common areas of residential buildings. The order takes effect at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, and applies to everyone over the age of five years old. Violations may be punishable by a $300 fine.
