The city’s Open Data Program makes government data easily available in useful formats, and is intended to increase transparency, foster engagement among residents, and create new opportunities for collaboration between Cambridge and the public.

This summer, 276 Cambridge pre-teens and middle schoolers participated in Cambridge Youth Programs’ (CYP) summer programs at Youth Centers. CYP also offered a variety of teen programming and internship opportunities to Cambridge teens.

Say hello to our Monarch caterpillars and learn about their life stages. We will also be crafting signs and costumes for our release parade at the end of the month.

Collaborate on a biodiversity banner to celebrate Moth Week with a sewing circle on July 11 and July 18. Wildlife Arts invites the community to hand sew blocks for a multi-moth fabric banner! We'll teach beginning sewers, and children old enough to handle a needle may work on caterpillar blocks (recommended for age 10 and up). You'll learn about moth biodiversity in Massachusetts and help publicize the humble and little-known world of moths. The banner will be displayed at the Cambridge Moth Ball on July 22 at Fresh Pond Reservation and will be available in the Wildlife Arts banner lending library when complete. All materials will be provided. Registration is suggested. You may attend one or both sessions. The City of Cambridge does not discriminate, including on the basis of disability. We may provide auxiliary aids and services, written materials in alternative formats, and reasonable modifications in policies and procedures to people with disabilities. In 2001 the City acquired title to a site in Trolley Square previously owned by the MBTA. This future of this site was the focus of the work of the Trolley Square Committee.

The Cambridge Police Department today announced the launch of a new publicly-accessible arrest, summons, citation, and use of force Procedural Justice Dashboard. This comprehensive dashboard is designed to better serve the community by increasing the department’s transparency and providing the public with deeper insights into Cambridge Police officer interactions with the public.
