The following report presents an analysis by the Commission on Immigrant Rights & Citizenship (CIRC) of the most pressing needs of Cambridge’s immigrant communities, particularly with regard to legal rights, citizenship and local resources for this information, based upon responses provided at two Focus Groups and through a series of thirty-three individual interviews with Cambridge immigrants, conducted in the winter/spring of 2017.

CDD Will Host Public Comment Session for Utilization of HUD Grants
The Community Development Department will hold an information and public comment session in preparation of the City’s FY2026 Annual Action Plan and FY2026-2030 Consolidated Plan. The purpose of the session is to solicit public comments on affordable housing, economic development, public service and other community development needs as they relate to low and moderate-income Cambridge residents, and HOPWA qualifying residents across Middlesex and Essex counties.

Baker-Polito Administration Announces Plans for Continued Reopening
The Baker-Polito Administration announced that Massachusetts will reopen some outdoor Phase 4, Step 2 industries effective May 10th and put plans in place for further reopening on May 29th and August 1st. The Administration continues to take steps to reopen the Commonwealth's economy with public health metrics continuing to trend in a positive direction. This includes drops in average daily COVID cases and hospitalizations. Massachusetts remains first in the nation for first vaccine doses and total doses administered per capita, among states with more than 5 million people. The Administration will also relax the Face Coverings Order for some outdoor settings, effective April 30th.
