Celebrate 20 Years of Marriage Equality in Cambridge May 15-18
Cambridge, the pioneering city that issued the first same-sex marriage licenses in the nation in May 2004, is preparing to commemorate 20 years of marriage equality. Over the course of four days, the Office of the Mayor and the City will be hosting three events.
SHADE Installation
SHADE is a temporary installation developed by a group of local teens for peers to combat isolation and encourage gathering in a safe, cool location.
CDC Approves COVID-19 Booster Shots for Moderna and Johnson & Johnson Vaccines
On Thursday, October 21, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) approved the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 booster vaccines for eligible groups. The CDC had previously recommended boosters for eligible individuals who received the Pfizer vaccine series. In addition, individuals will now be able to choose which type of booster shot to get regardless of which vaccine series they have already received.
Removed Trees Map
This map shows the location of all trees on public property that have either been recently removed or will be scheduled to be removed.
Climate and Energy
The Office of Sustainability is responsible for addressing climate change by developing policies and programs to reduce energy use, protect natural resources, and reduce pollution.
Comprehensive Planning
Envision Cambridge is the City’s current citywide plan, a roadmap to the year 2030, setting out a course of action to promote sustainable and inclusive growth. It establishes a framework for growth management that builds upon and complements existing patterns of development, while meeting the needs of today’s community and future generations. Prior to the establishment of Envision Cambridge, the comprehensive plan for Cambridge was composed of a set of documents: The Zoning Map and the Zoning Ordinance, the City’s growth policy document, Toward A Sustainable Future, and the major area-wide planning studies across the city.
BEUDO Review Board
The BEUDO Review Board consists of nine volunteer members whose primary role is to oversee aspects of Building Energy Use Disclosure Ordinance implementation and compliance.
