Understanding Deaf Culture & Everyday Signs Back by popular demand! Theresa A. King Founder & Director of SIGNING Basics® offers a deeper dive into American Sign Language. This workshop will focus on Deaf culture, common questions and misunderstandings about deafness, respectful communication practices, and practical everyday signs and short phrases. Participants will also have time to ask questions and continue the conversation that began during our previous session. This class is best for ages 10 and up.

Join us for Poly Talk, an intimate discussion dedicated to the complexities of polyamory and consensual non-monogamy (CNM) through the queer lens. It’s an act of rebellion to use your body in a public space, articulating power and transcending awkwardness or beauty. Two community workshops, led by Professor of Dance Christine Bennett, will involve movement as a path toward understanding and resiliency in our own bodies and community spaces. The workshops are appropriate for all movers ages 18 and up. Wear comfortable clothes. Register for one or both classes (5/13 & 5/20)

The Phoenix Landing will produce Mardi Gras in June, bringing the spirit of community joy and celebration to Lafayette Square (intersection of Mass Ave and Main St). Legless Lizard will bring the New Orleans-style Mardi Gras tunes. The event is planned for June 26, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
