Cambridge is committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050 while minimizing economic displacement from energy costs. We want to ensure that all our residents, regardless of race, wealth, primary language, or health, can survive and thrive during and after extreme storms and heat waves.
Fossil Fuel Free Demonstration Ordinance
The City of Cambridge is working to adopt an ordinance that will require new buildings and buildings undergoing a major renovation to eliminate the use of fossil fuels. Making buildings fossil fuel free means healthier homes and buildings and will help Cambridge reach our climate goals.
Separate Bike Lanes from Traffic
Improve safety for drivers and bikers by moving bike lanes to be between street parking spots and the sidewalk, reducing car-bike interactions and potential collisions.
Trees, please
Let’s plant 100 trees around Cambridge to combat heat, provide shade cover, and reduce carbon emissions all while contributing to a healthier, happier Cambridge.
