Come to the Library to create something special! Use your own supplies or try out our equipment! You can use our 1-inch button maker, 2.5 inch button maker, 3-D Doodle pens, or Janome sewing machines. The Library will provide basic supplies. This drop-in program is for people who feel comfortable using these machines on their own. The Library will not provide instruction. Anyone wishing to use the sewing machines must have completed a Sewing 101 training through the Library. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Case investigation and contact tracing are important strategies for helping to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the community. When public health representatives call, you can do your part by answering the phone and providing information that can help stop the spread of COVID-19. If you miss the call, please listen to the message and call back!

We are seeking Cambridge families with children ages 4–10 years to pilot Math! Everywhere!, an exciting math app that encourages your child to explore fun, interactive math tasks — right in your neighborhood. The app, created by local organization MathTalk, supports the goals of the Early Childhood Math Group facilitated by the Cambridge STEAM Initiative.

Based on the information the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has shared, Phase Two will begin on February 1st and only those 75 years and older (and those who qualify as part of Phase One) will be able to register for a vaccination appointment using the map on the state’s website. At this point, we do not have indications of when other groups in Phase Two will be able to register for and receive the vaccine. When the state shares additional information, we will post it on our dedicated vaccine information page at www.cambridgema.gov/vaccine.

Youth ages 10+ are welcome to join us for a single session of cooperative storytelling and role-play table-top game Dungeons & Dragons. Youth who have never played are encouraged to Try it!, youth with DnD experience are welcome. No registration required. May Selection: The Seven Dials Mystery by Agatha Christie. This book group will meet virtually and in person at the Boudreau Branch. We will discuss current and classic mystery titles. The end of March marked five years since Mitchel Iviquel was last seen by her family, but despite all the time that has passed Cambridge Police are still working to locate her. An Army Veteran who had been deployed overseas, Iviquel was thought to be unhoused in the Central Square area at the time of her disappearance.

The YMCA sold the Central House, a 128-unit SRO facility for men, to Caritas Communities. The property was rehabbed and improved.

The City of Cambridge requires all vending trucks, canteens or food service vehicles which utilize fuel for cooking to be permitted.
