For more information about reporting a sexual assault to the Cambridge Police call the Sexual Assault Helpline at 617-349-3381 for assistance. This helpline is monitored during business hours. The goal of the STEAM Careers Exploration Program, offered through the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program, is to encourage teens – especially those from communities historically excluded from STEM opportunities - to pursue higher-level STEM classes in high school, decide to major in STEM fields in college, or otherwise follow a training path that leads to a well-paying career at a local company.

The shelter, part of the Commonwealth’s Emergency Assistance Family Shelter system, is designed for eligible families in Massachusetts who are experiencing homelessness (eligible families must have children under 21 years of age and/or individuals who are pregnant) to stay while they work with case managers to find and move into stable, permanent housing.

Treat yourself to an afternoon of fun, creativity, and community while a local artist guides us step-by-step through the process of creating a beautiful acrylic painting. We'll provide the tea and light refreshments. No experience necessary. All are welcome. Acrylic paint can stain clothing. Please wear old clothing. Seating is limited to 8. Registration is required and will open at least two weeks before event.

This week 42 Student Officers officially began their law enforcement career as part of the Cambridge-Northeastern Police Academy. Now in it’s eighth class, the Cambridge-Northeastern Police Academy is a collaboration between both departments with support from other agencies. The academy is authorized by the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) to provide recruit level training for officers looking to work in municipal or university settings.

Fall season is in the air, here at the Library! This art class will be a hybrid of indoor and outdoor time. Allowing you to get up close with the trees and leaves to take artistic observations of your surroundings. All supplies will be provided but please bring any protective gear (long sleeves and sweaters) in the event of slightly cold weather. Registration is required.

The City of Cambridge announced the next round of small business relief grants today which will award over $2,000,000 to eligible Cambridge businesses. Earlier this year, the City offered grants to restaurants and night life venues and this grant program is open to businesses across multiple sectors.

The City of Cambridge is studying options to locate a bridge or tunnel that crosses the MBTA Commuter Rail train line between Rindge Avenue and Danehy Park.
