The Cambridge Water Department (CWD) wants to make the Cambridge community aware of the latest water drought status. Last week, the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) changed the Cambridge drought level status to Level 2 (Significant Drought). In response to the ongoing drought, Cambridge has implemented strict water use restrictions.

It’s no secret that Cambridge offers one of the best views of the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular and each year on July 4th thousands of people come to our community to enjoy the show. The City's Office of Workforce Development, a part of the Department of Human Services Programs, is sponsoring a Government & Public Sector Job Fair at Cambridge City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Ave. Meet representatives from local employers and learn about their job openings. Featured employers include: City of Cambridge, City of Somerville, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Massport, MBTA, and United States Postal Service. Positions include office, customer service, labor, transportation, child care and more.

Improve access to veterinary care for residents with financial or mobility challenges. This proposal will provide free check-ups, vaccine clinics, grooming, dental care, and other services to pets of residents in need.

New infections among Cambridge residents have increased in July, with 83 confirmed and probable cases reported so far this month (July 1-20), according to the Cambridge Public Health Department. The City and the Public Health Department are closely monitoring COVID-19 case trends in Cambridge and the Commonwealth, and will continue to issue updates and critical information to the community.

Sixth Street between Cambridge Street and Bent Street is currently scheduled for roadway work in the summer of 2018 as part of the City's 5 Year Street & Sidewalk Plan.
