The City of Cambridge and the Cambridge Public Health Department recognize that there are many questions regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, including safety of the vaccines; trust in government and pharmaceutical companies who developed the vaccines; potential side effects; who should and should not receive the vaccine; and where vaccines will be administered. CPHD and the City will continue to update residents and those who work in Cambridge as more information becomes available.

Attend this free event to learn about the Cambridge Preschool Program (CPP), explore the preschool programs available through CPP, and ask questions. The CPP application for the 2026-2027 school year will be open from October 1 - November 14, 2025.

Board of Zoning Appeal Meeting Minutes

Join the Collins Branch Library in collaboration with the Cambridge Climate Leaders Initiative for a monthly discussion of a climate-related topic. Each month the group will discuss a book on the topic at hand then hear about a related local program or initiative and how you can take action. Topic: Finding Hope Together Book: The Book of Hope: A Survival Guide for Trying Times by Jane Goodall and Douglas Abrams Registration is encouraged, but not required. Cambridge’s Percent-for-Art ordinance, established in 1979, has led to the city housing the largest municipal collection of contemporary public art in the region, along with the responsibility of maintaining it. The 2024 exhibition Rust Happen(s): Caring for the Public Art Collection showcased the challenges of preserving outdoor artworks, from rust and graffiti to storm damage, and highlighted the meticulous work of Cambridge Arts’ conservation team. Through stories of restored sculptures and murals, the exhibit underscored the science behind art conservation and encouraged community engagement in protecting public art.

CDD has completed its annual update to the stock of affordable housing units in the city. There are now 9,021 affordable housing units in the city, a net increase of 90 affordable units from the 2024 total of 8,931 units.

The Cambridge Department of Public Works invites you to celebrate Arbor Week May 4-8, featuring activities, information and giveaways that promote the City's Urban Forest. Arbor Week celebrates the critical role that trees play in keeping our City healthy and resilient. Come meet staff, learn about Cambridge’s trees and get a free seedling!
