Every February, CLC staff come together for a professional development day to learn with each other and work toward becoming better educators. The CLC's annual professional development day is an opportunity for teachers and advisors to learn new skills.

With many shelter programs short staffed and no longer having the capacity to prepare meals on site, the city will begin contracting with local restaurants in Central and Harvard Square to provide bag or boxed meals for lunch and dinner. These meals will then be delivered to shelters and programs that have indicated a strong need for meals.

Join the Council on Aging and Community Development Department this spring for strength training, on-bike skills, and group rides. These opportunities are offered through the Healthy Aging & Cycling series and are open to Cambridge residents ages 60 and older.

The Fund has distributed 42 grants with an average award of $103,000. Participatory Budgeting is a democratic process that empowers community members to decide how to spend part of a public budget. In June and July 2022, community members submitted 1,320 ideas on how to spend $1 million of the City of Cambridge’s FY24 Capital Budget. From August to November, over 70 volunteer PB Delegates worked on five committees to research and evaluate those ideas and develop 20 final proposals for the PB ballot.
