With temperatures expected to soar into the upper 80s this week, the City of Cambridge is excited to announce that waterplay features at many parks and playgrounds are now open for the summer season!

The benches will use recordings designed to facilitate interpersonal interaction between people who would not normally interact. The structures will include instructions and conversation prompts to encourage residents to share perspectives.

This event has been canceled. Learn about poetry forms from Asia, Hawaii, and the Pacific Islands, and write some yourself! No registration required, drop-in between 3:30-4:30pm. Join us for an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) class! This class will be taught at a beginner level. No testing is needed. Everyone is welcome. We view all attempts to educate, promote healing, and support the economic stability of individuals and communities as prevention strategies. To that end, we support organizations who already do this work to incorporate conversations about DGBV and skill building around healthy conflict and communication. We promote strategies that will not cause further harm to communities in their attempt to help.

In July, the City Manager’s Office in collaboration with the Cambridge Public Health Department launched the Cambridge Community Corps program, which was developed to help encourage Cambridge residents to adopt and keep practicing safe habits, such as wearing a mask and maintaining good hand hygiene, which will help slow the spread of COVID-19. The Corps Members will be giving positive reinforcement on healthy behaviors and having friendly and helpful interactions with their neighbors.
