Celebrate Older Americans Month
Every May, the Cambridge Council on Aging (COA) recognizes Older Americans Month, a national campaign led by the federal Administration for Communal Living that recognizes older adults’ contributions to society. The 2026 theme, Champion Your Health, underscores prevention, wellness, and personal responsibility as the foundation of healthy aging.
Senior Discount Water-Sewer Program
All residents 65 years of age or older who own and occupy their one, two or three family home are eligible for a 15% discount on water/sewer charges, not to exceed $90.00 per year.
Two Former City of Cambridge Leaders Receive Fresh Pond Stewardship Award
The City of Cambridge recently presented the 2024 Fresh Pond Stewardship Award to two former City of Cambridge Leaders, retired Deputy City Manager Lisa Peterson and retired Managing Director of Cambridge Water Department Stephen “Sam” Corda. Both recipients were honored for their long-standing commitment to and love for Fresh Pond Reservation.
Little Free Libraries (Book Exchanges)
Informal Book Exchanges are already popular in Cambridge on streets and at the Public Works yard. This project would install 13 Little Free Libraries to support literacy, community engagement, and fun throughout the streets of our city.
