We will adapt the tale “The Little Red Hen” and perform our masterpiece for family and friends. Using mixed media, participants will create shoebox puppet theaters. This four-week puppetry workshop is for youth ages 9-12. We will meet on October 9, 16, 23, 30. No experience necessary! Registration is required. Participants must attend all sessions and have read a version of the tale before the first session. Stop by the Children’s Room to pick up a copy or call 617-349-4038. The Cambridge Promise Pilot will allow eligible students enrolled at Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) and supported by the City’s College Success Initiative (CSI) to receive a “last dollar plus scholarship,” which includes free tuition and fees for the 2023-2024 academic year.

City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 27-28. 

The original program scheduled for this day with Little Uprisings will be postponed. Please stay tuned for a new date. The following description is for the program that will be on Saturday: Join friends at the O'Neill Branch to build, build, BUILD your idea of a neighborhood and a community! Let your imagination run wild with LEGOs, Magna-Tiles and other building toys. We will also have books about neighborhoods and a collaborative art project about our community. For children ages 5 and up. Children under age 7 must be accompanied by a caregiver. LEGO pieces are choking hazards for young children.

A municipal property needs assessment and planning study for developable properties owned by the City of Cambridge in and around Central Square. The study will identify how the City can best leverage our properties to support municipal services and advance City priorities.

In this workshop, you will learn the history of Pysanky, the centuries old tradition of Ukrainian egg decorating. In this process-based workshop, participants will create and take home their very own special Ukrainian pysanka. All materials will be provided. Registration is required.
