Saturday, October 14: Road Closures in Central Square, The Port

Expect traffic impacts and road closures from community events in Central Square and the Port on Saturday, October 14.

The Cambridge Community Foundation and Central Square Business Improvement District will sponsor a block party from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 14. The event includes free food, farmer’s market, Popportunity shops, live music, a community mural, sports drills, and the launch of Cambridge Community Foundation’s five-year strategic plan. (The event has a rain late of Sunday, October 15).

Road closures:

  • Municipal Lots 4 and 5 will close from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Bishop Allen Drive will close between Norfolk Street and Essex Street from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Norfolk Street will close between Bishop Allen Drive and Mass Ave from 10 a.m.  to 7 p.m.

The Cambridge Department of Public Works will sponsor The Port Infrastructure Project’s Arts in the Park on Saturday, October 14, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Clement Morgan Park. The event includes live painting exhibits, live music, free food, artist booths, children’s activities, and information about the Port Infrastructure Improvements Project.

Road closures:

  • Columbia Street will close between Washington Street and 44 Columbia Street from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Pine Street will close between Eaton Street to School Street from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
