Expect weekend traffic impacts from Red Line shuttles and special events

Expect weekend traffic impacts from special events in the Port, Inman Square, and Central Square; and from Red Line shuttles running between Alewife Station and Harvard Square.

  • Weekend MBTA Shuttles: On Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22, shuttle buses will replace Red Line service between Alewife and Harvard from start to end of service. Link to MBTA website
  • The Port Arts Fest Saturday, May 21, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Community Arts Center, 119 Windsor Street. This free neighborhood event features live music and performances, live mural painting, food trucks, fun activities, and local artists. Windsor Street will be closed between Harvard Street and Main Street from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Link to Event Information
  • Cambridge-Somerville Asian Festival Saturday, May 21, 1-3 p.m.   Starlight Square and Norfolk Street. The festival is a family-friendly, outdoor celebration of AAPI Heritage Month, featuring activity tables with arts and crafts, vendors, performances, and speakers. Norfolk Street will be closed near Central Square from Bishop Allen Drive to Massachusetts Avenue from 11 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Link to Event Information
  • East Cambridge Business Association's Inman Eats and Crafts event Sunday, May 22, 12-4 p.m., Cambridge Street, between Prospect Street and Springfield Street. Cambridge Street will be closed between Prospect Street and Springfield Street. Link to Event Information
