Description

If you are an owner, condo trustee, or property manager of a residential building with 50 or more units or a non-residential building with 50,000 square feet or more in Cambridge, there are new energy use reporting requirements that may apply to your property.  These properties are required to report their 2014 energy and water use to the City of Cambridge by May 1, 2015 using the Energy Star Portfolio Manager tool. Non-residential buildings between 25,000 and 50,000 square feet won’t have to report until 2016.

The City of Cambridge and City of Boston will be hosting this training session for building owners, condo trustees, property managers, and service providers on the use of the Energy Star Portfolio Manager tool and the building energy use disclosure ordnances that are in effect in both communities.

If the morning is not convenient, there is an afternoon session at 1 p.m. that is intended for service providers, but the content will be similar.  The sessions will address how to use Portfolio Manager, where to get data, and the requirements of the ordinances.  There will be additional technical assistance opportunities. Please register by emailing buildingenergy@cambridgema.gov.  The presentations will be made by representatives of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, NSTAR, the City of Boston, and the City of Cambridge.

The Cambridge Building Energy Use Disclosure Ordinance was passed in July 2014.  It covers non-residential buildings over 25,000 square feet in size and residential buildings with 50 or more units.
