Description

Please join us for an informative panel discussion celebrating the 2020 Census, our nation’s 24th national census, a continuous history that stretches back to 1790.  A star-studded panel, including Dr. Melissa Nobles, MIT professor in political science, Dr. Peter Skerry, Boston College professor in political science, Ms. Eva Millona, executive director of Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition, and Dr. Kenneth Prewitt, former Director of the Census Bureau and current Advisor to the President at Columbia University, will cover a wide range of topics from the census’ history, its use of racial categories and immigration status, its move to an online format, and its future.

This lecture is part of Our Path Forward series presented by the Library to affirm its commitment to public discourse and democracy during a period of change and uncertainty.
