Borrow a bag of pre-selected library books for your kids and teens! Drop by this pop-up event outside your neighborhood branch and pick up a bag of 3-5 library books for your young readers. Title selections will be curated by Cambridge Public Library Youth Services Librarians. Please wear a face covering and maintain 6 feet of distance between yourself, Library Staff, and other patrons. Bins will also be available for library returns.

Registration is required. Zoom link will be sent out prior to the event. So you want to start a writing group, or perhaps improve how your existing group is working. What are some excellent tips and tricks? Join authors Alex Marzano-Lesnevich, Celeste Ng, Christopher Castellani, Jennifer De Leon, Adam Stumacher, Whitney Scharer, Calvin Hennick, Grace Talusan, Chip Cheek, Becky Tuch, and Sonya Larson as they discuss what they've learned from their own writing group, the Chunky Monkeys, over the last 7+ years. When they began, the group had no published books-- now they have several titles under the belt, including The Age of Light, Little Fires Everywhere, Leading Men, Don't Ask Me Where I'm From, Once More to the Rodeo, The Body Papers, Cape May, and The Fact of a Body, as well as numerous articles, essays, and stories.

Dragons: Return of the Ice Sorceress Long, long ago, two kids go on a daring adventure to find a dragon and save the kingdom from the Ice Sorceress! When things don’t go as planned, however, they must turn to themselves (and to science!) for the answer. A fun fantasy adventure with dry ice effects! We invite children and their grownups to join us from home for a live show presented on Zoom. Register below. Zoom link will be emailed to registrants one hour before the program begins. Virtual Summer Reading Programs are free and open to the public and are not recorded.
