Parenting is challenging in any circumstance. But add to that a global pandemic—where you are suddenly juggling remote work, home schooling, running a household, caring for the physical and emotional needs of your children and countless other roles and tasks—and feelings of being exhausted and demoralized can quickly accumulate. Bringing mindful attention to our skills as parents, however, can increase our capacity to form strong bonds with all the members of our family, reducing feelings of despair and frustration. Simply put, the practice of mindfulness cultivates conditions of openness and receptivity, in which communication and emotional connection naturally flourish. In this workshop, we will learn about how to regulate our nervous systems and model mindfulness for our families, so that we are able to navigate the inevitable waves of joy and frustration that accompany every parent’s experience with a greater sense of ease.
Our time will include mindfulness meditation practice, discussion and questions.
Registration is required. A Zoom link will be sent to registrants one hour before the program begins.
