Free after-school clubs for teen girls. Join our weekly club at the Cambridge Public Library and learn how to build an app, design a video game, and change the world through code! Girls Who Code is a national non-profit organization leading the movement to inspire, educate, and equip girls with the computing skills to pursue 21st century opportunities. To get a more precise idea as to what participants will build, have a look at completed projects from previous years. Who is it for? This program is open to anyone who identifies as a girl! However it is a teen program, for participants aged 13-18 (roughly grades 8-12). When is it? This program is scheduled to run every Wednesday, 4:00 to 6:00PM from October 11 2017 until December 20 2017 (EXCEPT November 22 because of Thanksgiving break). That's ten, two-hour sessions. Where is it? In the Beech Room (big glass room right by the entrance) in the main branch of the Cambridge Public Library. Will I need to bring a computer! No! The library will provide computers (nice new chromebooks). Is it free? Yes! How do I register? Please register in person at the Teen Room desk in the main library, or by phone at 617-349-4027.
