No one knew him better than his wife, scholar and author Maxine Gordon, whose recent book, Sophisticated Giant: The Life and Legacy of Dexter Gordon, chronicles the life of the jazz great. Join Maxine Gordon for a book signing and a screening of Round Midnight, a 1986 movie that earned Dexter Gordon an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role. This event is sponsored by the Cambridge Jazz Festival and the Cambridge Public Library.
