Main Library, Lecture Hall, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

Over 15 years ago, the scientific community celebrated the sequencing of the first human genome. It’s time to ask how this monumental effort has transformed biomedical science, from basic research to the understanding and treatment of disease. Eric Lander, Broad Institute president and founding director and one of the principal leaders of the Human Genome Project, will survey the impact — what we’ve learned, and what lies ahead. Presented as part of Horizons: Exploring Breakthroughs in Science & Technology and Their Impact on Society, a lecture series of the STEAM Initiative at the Cambridge Public Library. Please register below for this free public lecture. Cambridge Community Television (CCTV) will be livestreaming this event on their facebook page, and when the archived video is available, we will be posting it on the Library's Horizon's series page.
