    • Intermediate ESOL Class (Central Square)

      Central Square Branch, 45 Pearl St., Cambridge, MA 02139

      Join us for an English for Speakers of Other Languages Class. This class will be taught at an intermediate level. No testing is needed, but registration is required. The is an in-person class. Please register below. Intermediate ESOL Class is free and open to the public. If you register but later find you cannot attend, please remember to cancel your registration to make space for others.       We invite children and their grown-ups to join us for 20-25 minutes of songs, stories and rhymes. This program will be held in the Reading Garden on Berkshire Street. In the event of inclement weather, we will hold the program indoors. Please call 617-349-4015 for more information.

      The City Manager’s Office of the Housing Liaison, Community Development Department, Human Rights Commission and the Department of Human Service Programs’ Multi-Service Center announces the launch of "Housed In Cambridge: Information to Open Doors" - a city-wide campaign designed to educate and inform residents on housing opportunities and housing-related resources and services. These panels will be recorded as webinars and therefore will serve as ongoing information and educational resource.

    • Vinyl Cutting 101 (Main)

      Main Library, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

      Interested in making your own vinyl stickers, signs, or images for transfer to tshirts and other textiles? In this workshop you will learn how to use our Roland Camm-1 GS-24 vinyl cutter and get badged to use the vinyl cutter. You will also customize a sticker and cut it on our vinyl cutter. You must complete Hive Safety Training & Glowforge 101 before participating in this program. View The Hive's workshop schedule here.

      September book selection: Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat: Mastering the Elements of Good Cooking by Samin Nosrat. Reading interests: This group enjoys popular cookbooks. We will talk about what we learned, what recipes surprised us, what was tasty, and what we are keen to explore through cooking! How to get the print book or book on CD: Copies of the print book and book on CD will be set aside at the Central Square Branch Library. Visit the Central Square Branch at 45 Pearl St. during our current hours and a staff member can help you check out a copy. A copy is also available for reading at the library. Some past selections include: Lost Children Archive by Valeria Luiselli, On Immunity by Eula Biss, and Disoriental by Négar Djavadi.
