      Listen to stories, plant flowers for the Library, and grab seeds to take home! Children of all ages welcome.

    • Pride Flag Art Workshop for Children and Families (Central Square)

      Join local artist and activist Noah Stang-Osborne in a creative workshop for children and families that uses story telling and art to explore the meaning, history, and significance of the pride flag. Recommended for ages 5-11 and their caregivers.

      Read with Bowie the Therapy Dog from Pets & People! Therapy dogs provide warm and non-judgmental reading companions for new or experienced readers of all ages. Registration for each 10-minute time slot is required and begins on Thursday June 8. Sign up by phone or in person at the O'Connell Branch (617-349-4019).

      Main Library, Curious George Room, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

      Join us virtually for a lively discussion of a great book - either in person at the Main Library or virtually on Zoom. Pizza is provided for in-person participants. For ages 10-13 and a parent or caregiver. Both caregiver and child should read the book before the discussion to participate. For a copy of the book, stop by the Children’s Room or call 617-349-4038. Registration is required — only one registration is needed per family. This month, we're reading: The Screaming Staircase by Jonathan Stroud (Disney-Hyperion Books, 2013).
