  LibraryBEATS! Drum and Rhythm Program (Collins)

  Collins Branch, 64 Aberdeen Ave., Cambridge, MA 02138

  Otha Day presents his signature "DrumToTheBeat: Drum Circle and Rhythm Event". This fully participatory program is especially for the very young. Otha leads intergenerational, fun and lively drum circle events from the core belief that rhythm can build community, promote well-being and create joy. He supports participants as they learn about the importance of rhythm in all aspects of life while taking part in activities and experiences, showing them that their "heartbeat and breath are the rhythms of the soul and the pathways of connection to everyone." Recommended for children ages 3-6 and their caregivers.

  Sing-Along (Valente)

  Valente Branch, 826 Cambridge St., Cambridge, MA 02141

  Put on your dancing shoes and head over for a morning of singing and dancing! We'll sing and move together, and maybe share a story or two. For children of all ages and their grown-ups. This program will take place in the Community Room at the Valente Branch Library. If the weather is particularly fine, the program may move outside to the Valente Reading Garden on Berkshire Street.   We invite children and their caregivers for 20-25 minutes of stories and songs. Designed for children 18 months to 3 years and their caregivers. This program can accommodate 45 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly. Unclaimed seats will be offered to someone waiting. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Please call 617-349-4038 for more information.
