    • Hive Safety Training (Main)

      Main Library, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

      Are you interested in using The Hive? In this workshop you will learn about our makerspace, how to utilize the resources we offer and how to keep safe in The Hive. Find out what you need to get started as a maker in The Hive here. Completion of Hive Safety Training is the entry point to making, innovating, and collaborating in this space. Makers must also sign The Hive User Agreement and Waivers.

    • Drag Story Time (Main)

      Main Library, Curious George Room, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

      Kick off Pride Month with Drag Story Time at the Cambridge Public Library! Join us on Saturday, June 1st at 11 a.m. in the Main Library Curious George Room for songs and stories about what makes each of us fabulous. This program is for children and their caregivers. No registration is required.

    • Equipment and Studio Reservations (Main)

      Main Library, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

      During this reservation period, anyone who has completed Hive training and is badged to use equipment or studio(s) can reserve Hive equipment or studio spaces. Staff will assist participants as they are able.

    • Drop-in Maker Studio (O'Neill)

      O'Neill Branch, 70 Rindge Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140

      Come to the Library to create something special! Use your own supplies or try out our equipment! You can use our 1-inch button maker, 2.5 inch button maker, 3-D Doodle pens, or Janome sewing machines. The Library will provide basic supplies. This drop-in program is for people who feel comfortable using these machines on their own. The Library will not provide instruction. Anyone wishing to use the sewing machines must have completed a Sewing 101 training through the Library. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

    • PARK SOUNDS: Celebrating Caribbean Heritage Month with Lady Lee and the New Awakening Band (Main)

      Main Library, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

      Caribbean Heritage Month, warmer weather, the start of CPL's 2024 Park Sounds season...there are so many things to celebrate! Lady Lee and the New Awakening Band kick off Park Sounds 2024 with a mix of reggae, originals, and popular covers. Rain date: Thursday, June 6 from 5-7 pm. PARK SOUNDS 2024 brings free musical performances featuring local artists to the front lawn of the Cambridge Public Library Main Branch. These events are all-ages. Bring a chair, food, and loved ones to celebrate the summer! Funding is provided by the CPL Foundation.
