    West Nile Virus Found in Cambridge Mosquitoes

    State health officials reported on August 18 that two mosquito samples in Cambridge had tested positive for West Nile virus. The mosquito samples were collected from a trap in West Cambridge.

    Salute to Cambridge will be theme for Oldtime Baseball Game August 25

    The Oldtime Baseball Game has known only one home since it was founded in 1994 -- St. Peter’s Field on Sherman St in North Cambridge. The theme for the 23rd annual charity exhibition game on Thursday, August 25, at 7 p.m. will be “Salute to Cambridge.” .

    Affordable Rental and Homeownership Information Sessions August 24

    The Housing Division of the city’s Community Development Department will be holding Rental and Homeownership Information Sessions on Wednesday, August 24, from 12-2 p.m., at the Central Square Public Library, 45 Pearl St, Community Room, Cambridge. Two sessions will be held at 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.

    Work to Occur Overnight on Green St - August 18

    In conjunction with an ongoing project at the Manning Apartments (237 Franklin St.), overnight work will be required on August 18th to complete urgent repairs on the existing excavation in the roadway on Green Street. Work hours will be from 12:00am-4:30am.

    Cambridge Welcomes Home Missing Veteran 65 Years Later

    Cambridge honored missing hometown veteran CPL Ronald M. Sparks 65 years later, after the US Army positively identified his remains through a 100% DNA match. Sparks, a Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient died at age 20 in a prisoner of war camp in North Korea in 1951.
