Where to Get a Pfizer COVID-19 Booster Shot in Cambridge and Neighboring Communities

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that the following groups should receive a booster shot of the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine at least 6 months after receiving the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine:

  • People aged 65 years and older
  • Residents aged 18 years and older in long-term care settings
  • People aged 50 – 64 years with underlying medical conditions

CDC also recommends that the following groups may receive a booster shot of the Pfizer vaccine, based on individual risks and benefits:

  • People aged 18-49 years of age with underlying medical conditions
  • People aged 18-64 years who are at higher risk for COVID-19 because of work (first responders, educators, health care workers, others) or living settings (e.g., correctional facilities, homeless shelters)

Currently, there are several locations where eligible people can receive a Pfizer booster in Cambridge and neighboring communities:

  • Cambridge Health Alliance
    • CHA Somerville Vaccine Center
    • 176 Somerville Ave, Somerville (next to Target)
    • Mon & Tues: 11:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.   Wed, Thu, & Fri: 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
    • Walk-ins or appointments
    • To pre-register:
    • CHA patients
    • Non-CHA patients   
  • CVS
    • 624 Mass. Ave (Central Square)
    • (also many other locations in neighboring communities)
    • Appointments required

  • Star Market (pharmacy)
    • 699 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge
    • (also many other locations in neighboring communities)
    • Walk-ins or appointments
