Local Entrepreneurs Graduate from the Cambridge Business Planning Program

Last month, seven entrepreneurs graduated from the Cambridge Business Planning Program, a free, 10-week course open to Cambridge residents and business owners. The program, a partnership between the City and the Center for Women and Enterprise, covers information about financing, marketing techniques, business plan development, and honing a business pitch.

During the course, participants furthered a range of business concepts, including a food truck business, a barbeque catering company, a pop-up fine dining restaurant, a beauty supplier specializing in products for women of color, and a cookie business.

“Anyone will tell you that restaurants are the most high-risk business to open . . . and I felt that the guidance provided from the Business Planning Program would help focus my path forward with this new venture,” says Jess, a participant in the Fall 2019 course. “The network and workshops provided through [the Cambridge Business Planning Program] was foundational in how we approached our management and business analytics. Meeting with an instructor that could provide feedback about your progress on a weekly basis helped me think creatively of solutions forward.”

The Cambridge Business Planning Program is offered twice a year. Registration for the spring session will open in January 2020.
