Dive Rescue Training

The Cambridge Fire Dive Rescue Team runs monthly hands-on exercises in order to maintain the high-standard of skills and safety procedures required. This drill included review of search patterns in near-zero visibility conditions at the bottom of the cold Charles River. As always, diver accountability, ICS (Incident Command System), and communications are practiced.

Following the drill, air cylinders are refilled, and all equipment is cleaned & serviced and made ready for the next incident.

In addition to working at water emergencies and water searches in Cambridge, our Cambridge Fire Dive Rescue Team and Marine Unit work with our mutual aid public safety partners as needed and are available for emergency response in the metro area.

This exercise shows groups 1 & 3 participating in the hands-on review in the Charles River on 20 Oct 2023.
