Fire Headquarters Temporary Relocation

The Fire Department Administrative Offices (Chief's Office, Business Office, Fire Prevention Bureau, & Tech Services) have relocated to 23 Bay State Road in the Fresh Pond area.

This temporary, but long-term move will allow for the major reconstruction of the 90 year old Fire Headquarters building at 491 Broadway to begin.

The building at 491 Broadway has been in use 24/7/365 as Fire Headquarters (both Administrative Offices and Fire House) since February of 1934.

The fire companies (Engine 1, Ladder 1, Rescue 1, and the Dive Rescue Unit) relocated to a temporary fire house on Hovey Av on January 16, 2024.
