Early Childhood Education Career Training Program Recruiting Participants for Fall

The Early Childhood Education Career Training Program, which provides training and job experience to people interested in becoming early childhood educators, is recruiting participants for its 2023-2024 cycle. The program will begin in October 2023. In addition to completing coursework and participating in a paid internship at a Cambridge early childhood program, participants prepare to earn the nationally recognized Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.

“This program has changed my life! I had wanted to go into early childhood education for a long time but did not know how to go about it,” said Sara Mulligan Farina, a participant in the 2022-2023 Early Childhood Education Career Training Program. “The very exciting news is that my internship will turn into a full-time job once I have completed the program. I will forever be grateful for this amazing opportunity.”

The program will run from October 2023 through May 2024 and include:

  • Online early childhood courses
  • Weekly class to support online coursework
  • A paid internship at a licensed early childhood program in Cambridge
  • Coaching to complete a CDA Professional Portfolio and apply for the CDA credential
  • On-site observations, feedback sessions, and academic advising
  • Help with career planning
