Rainbow Room on Nov. 17 Celebrates LGBTQ+ Voices through Poetry and Music

The Cambridge GLBT Commission, Cambridge Arts Council, and the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition (MTPC) present Rainbow Room, a celebration of queer poetry and music Thursday, Nov. 17, from 7-10 p.m., at YWCA, 7 Temple St., Cambridge. Rainbow Room is an accessible, inclusive, and community-focused event celebrating and lifting up local LGBTQ+ artists in Cambridge. Events are free and open to the public.

Jade Sylvan’s Queer Poetry Hour begins with an open mic at 7 p.m., followed by poets Oompa Williams, Chloe Cunha, and Rebecca Lynn Gualtieri, from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Local celebrity artist, Caleb Cole, will be interviewed by up-and-coming performer, Alex Gabriel Cha.

Following the Poetry Hour, from 8:30-10 p.m., the Cambridge GLBT Commission and MTPC will present: Resonance: a music event celebrating Transgender voices, featuring music by Analogue Self, Spectral, and Kerr Griffin.

Jade Sylvan, called a “risqué queer icon” by The Boston Globe, is an award-winning author, poet, screenwriter, producer, and performing artist living in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
