Waterplay
With temperatures expected to soar into the upper 80s this week, the City of Cambridge is excited to announce that waterplay features at many parks and playgrounds are now open for the summer season!
Community Engagement & Outreach
The DGBVPI works to improve access and use of services through community partnerships. We co-facilitate the Cambridge Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and the DGBVPI Steering Committee. In these settings, organizations gain a deeper understanding of how DGBV shows up in different settings and collaborate to find ways to address it. We work to make sure the Cambridge community has, “no wrong door” for survivors seeking services or someone causing harm who wants to change their behavior.
Family Event
Join the Center for Families for family-friendly crafts, stories, and activities. The event will include pizza and every child gets a free book! Open to Cambridge families with children ages 2-8.
Outdoor Gym
Installing outdoor workout equipment in local parks encourages people to exercise. This equipment would include pull-up and dip bars, benches, and locations for stretching. Outdoor gyms help keep Cambridge residents healthy and fit!
Public Toilet for Park Upgrade
Improve park accessibility and hygiene with a durable, eco-friendly, public restroom. Previously PB funded Portland Loos are being designed for Flagg Street, and Cambridge Common. This PB proposal would fund an additional location.
New Musical Instruments for CRLS
New music instruments for CRLS would encourage and support arts education for Cambridge students. Newer equipment at the high school would not only benefit high school students but middle school students as well.
Pools and Swimming Resources
Residents can enjoy the two indoor pools at the War Memorial Recreation Center (1640 Cambridge St.) year-round. Gold Star Pool (123 Berkshire St.) is on outdoor pool open to the public during summer months.
Adoption, Surrender Foster Information
Cambridge Animal Control does not operate a shelter facility or accept surrendered animals. If you need to rehome your pet, you can access a list of local shelters and rescues that can offer help.
More Bluebike Stations Near Affordable Housing
Install 3 new, Cambridge-owned, Bluebike Stations in neighborhoods that need more affordable and convenient access to bike sharing. This project will support economic inclusivity, helping everyone enjoy the many benefits of bike sharing.
Arts & Economic Impact
The City of Cambridge, in partnership with Americans for the Arts, is undergoing a study to understand the economic impact of the local arts and cultural programming. More information regarding the survey efforts to come.
