Panelists include digital artist Dr. Nettrice Gaskins; Dr. Pedro Reynolds-Cuellar, a Research Scientist at the Robotics and AI Institute; Mark Lannigan, the Regional Director for Senator Ed Markey; Dr. Nathan Sanders, a Data Scientist at the Harvard Berkman Klein Center; Dr. Maria Madison, the Principal Investigator in the Racial Justice and Tech Program at Brandeis University’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management; Dr. Deb Roy, the Director of the Constructive Communication Center at the MIT Media Labs; and Dr. Dia Ghosh, the Founder of Joint Family. Panelists will also include Gianluca Álvarez and Jeremy Miranda Casildo, youth AI Research Interns with Innovators for Purpose.
Office of Workforce Development
The Office of Workforce Development (OWD), based in the Department of Human Service Programs, offers a range of employment programs and services to hundreds of Cambridge teen and adult residents each year. These resources prepare residents for employment or training by building employability skills and establishing long-term relationships through individualized support.

Staff Provide Help with Winter Heating Costs
Every year, the Fuel Assistance Program helps more than 1,200 residents in Cambridge and Somerville pay their winter heating bills between November 1 and April 30. Most residents don’t think about heating bills until temperatures drop, but for the staff managing this crucial service, planning for Fuel Assistance begins in the heat of the summer.
Commonwealth Avenue Bridge Replacement Project
The next intensive construction phase for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s (MassDOT) upcoming Commonwealth Avenue Bridge Replacement Project is scheduled to take place between July 26-August 11, 2018. As a result, Cambridge residents will also potentially be affected – to varying degrees -- by these service impacts. Pedestrians and bicyclists will have bridge access throughout construction, with some detours.
Cambridge Awarded Three AAA Ratings for 25th Consecutive Year
The City of Cambridge has retained its distinction of being one of approximately 24 cities in the United States to earn AAA ratings from each of the nation's three major credit rating agencies. For 25 consecutive years, the City has received these noteworthy ratings annually from Moody's Investors Service, S&P Global Ratings, and Fitch Ratings.
