Fossil Fuel Free Ordinance
The City of Cambridge Fossil Fuel Free Ordinance is effective March 22, 2024. The ordinance requires new buildings and major renovation projects to be fossil fuel-free. Fossil fuel-free means not using oil, gas, propane, or other fossil fuels. The requirements apply to both residential and non-residential building projects.
Mass Ave at Albany
Massachusetts Avenue (Mass Ave.) at Albany St. is a four-way, signalized intersection between The Port and Cambridgeport. It is ranked #1 in CDOT’s 2025 analysis of higher crash locations and is scheduled for quick-build upgrades in Spring 2026 as part of the Intersection Safety Audit program.
