The Community Safety Department is a fully funded city department that exists outside of the traditional scope of public safety. The City of Cambridge COVID-19 Housing Stabilization Program serves to provide short term financial assistance to individuals and families in Cambridge who are experiencing housing instability due to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The City of Cambridge is notifying residents, businesses, and visitors of street closures and travel impacts on Sunday, March 29, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. due to the Spring Classic 5K.

Google Calendar can help you stay organized. Learn how to schedule meetings, create tasks, and manage events with Google Calendar. A Google (Gmail) account is required for the class. Please remember your email address and password, you will need them to sign in and practice during the class. Laptops will be provided for the class. Add amenities like water fountains, waste bag dispensers, and more dog-friendly environments to two dog parks around the city-- offering a safe area for dogs and their owners to play and interact with other dogs.

Install outdoor chess tables in parks, city squares, and near libraries. This project will encourage community interaction through chess, checkers, and other board games! This project will ensure that residents can borrow chess sets from public libraries.

In 2013 the City completed the renovation three neighborhood parks in Cambridgeport. Alberico Park, David Nunes (Old Morse) Park, and Fulmore Park are small to moderately sized parks located in Cambridgeport along Allston Street and Sidney Street.

Come to the Library to create something special! Use your own supplies or try out our equipment! You can use our 1-inch button maker, 2.5 inch button maker, 3-D Doodle pens, or Janome sewing machines. The Library will provide basic supplies. This drop-in program is for people who feel comfortable using these machines on their own. The Library will not provide instruction. Anyone wishing to use the sewing machines must have completed a Sewing 101 training through the Library. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
