Election Commission
The Election Commission is responsible for managing and supervising elections and the annual census in the City. The Election Commission also manages municipal campaign finance reporting and administers and enforces the City’s Ethics Ordinance.
Planning Studies
The Community Development Departments collaborates with other City departments to conduct planning studies of varying scales, often with goals to rezone, solve a particular problem, or create documentation of a topic.
Install Safe Disposal Boxes for Sharp Items
Install boxes for safe disposal of needles, lancets, or other sharp medical tools. These boxes would be located in high-need areas to provide more safe, convenient disposal options for sharps in the city.
Reopening of Roadways Near 221 Mount Auburn Street
The City of Cambridge will reopen Sparks Street and Mount Auburn Street and lift all detours related to the 221 Mt. Auburn Street demolition. Normal traffic patterns will be restored on April 17, 2026.
Main Street Safety Improvement Project
Through the Main Street Safety Improvement Project, the City will add separated bike lanes to Main Street between Massachusetts Avenue and Portland Street, creating a more-comfortable bike connection between the Port and Central Square.
