The City of Cambridge wants to make sure everyone—residents, families, pet owners, and businesses—stays safe, cool, and prepared during extreme heat. Here is a guide to locate places to cool off this heat wave and summer!

The Cambridge Charter Review Committee has been convened by the City Council to comprehensively review the City’s current charter and to recommend changes to ensure that Cambridge’s government meets the needs of our residents and is responsive to the challenges of today and beyond.

The City of Cambridge is offering four new affordable condominiums for sale to income-eligible first-time homebuyers through a lottery process. These affordable condos are located at The Pathmark, 97 Elmwood Street in North Cambridge near Davis Square.

Join the Collins Branch Library in collaboration with the Cambridge Climate Leaders Initiative for a monthly discussion of a climate-related topic. Each month the group will discuss a book on the topic at hand then hear about a related local program or initiative and how you can take action. Topic: Heatwaves & Hard Truths Book: The Heat Will Kill You First: Life and death on a scorched planet by Jeff Goodell Meetings will be held on the fourthThursday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. Copies of the book will be available at the Collins Branch during library hours. The Capital Building Projects Department manages planning, design, and construction of a wide range and scale of projects across Cambridge's municipal building portfolio, including renovations and upgrades to Public Works facilities, youth centers, branch libraries, fire stations, and City offices.

The Leaf Blower Ordinance will require the reduction of noise and emissions of particulate matter resulting from the use of leaf blowers to protect the public health, welfare and environment of the City of Cambridge and its citizens.

Let’s feed the hungry in our city. A freezer van is the vital piece of equipment that would allow Cambridge and its partners to potentially double prepared food rescue deliveries from roughly 3,500 healthy frozen meals to 7,000 each week.

The Inspectional Services Department (ISD) is responsible for the enforcement all laws and related City ordinances that pertain to the Massachusetts State Building Code and certain articles of the State Sanitary Code. ISD also enforces the Zoning Ordinance.
