Roadway Paving of Various Locations
Beginning November 1st, weather permitting, the City’s contractor, E J Paving, will begin performing partial roadway milling and grinding. Paving will begin the week of November 6th.

July 4th Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular Information for Cambridge
Listed below are the pedestrian, parking, and traffic restrictions that will be in place in Cambridge for the 2024 Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. Impacts will primarily occur in Boston with Cambridge being directly affected on July 4 – particularly after 4 p.m. All roadways will remain closed (unless noted otherwise) until the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) can clean the roadways and remove event and production assets.
Toilet for All
24-hour access public toilet near Central Square, similar to the one currently underway in Harvard Square. The exact location will be determined through a public process.
Labor Day Service Schedule
In observance of the Labor Day holiday, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed on Monday, September 5, and payments will not be required at parking meters and parking meter pay stations. The offices at Cambridge Cemetery, 76 Coolidge Avenue, will also be closed on the holiday, however, the cemetery gates will be open from 7 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Clothing & Textiles Recycling
The City of Cambridge offers free weekly curbside textiles collection, as well as drop-off bins at select locations. To schedule your free pick-up, use the Clothing/Textiles Collection tool below. Approximately, 95% of textiles and accessories could be reused/repurposed. This initiative supports the city's goals of reducing waste and is launched in accordance with recommendations from the City's Zero Waste Master Plan.
