Many of our schools, hospitals and senior living facilities are located on busy streets. This project will enable the city to install comprehensive Complete Streets treatments at one or more intersections around these facilities to improve pedestrian safety in Cambridge

Community members are invited to attend the finals to provide support and cheer on contestants. Cosponsored by the Fletcher Maynard Academy, My Brother's Keeper Cambridge, Sisters with a Dream, and Cambridge Public Library.

Palmer Street is getting a makeover! In an effort to transform this Harvard Square alley into a more active and welcoming public space, the City is introducing colorful tables and chairs, playful magnetic poetry boards, a public piano, plantings, and an artistic canopy.

Join the Cambridge Public Health Department's Cambridge Healthy Smiles Program to learn more about your dental concerns as a senior: Receive advice on changes to your brushing routine as you advance in age; Hear a review of how oral health affects your overall health; Pick up oral health resource sheets for dental care along with a free toothbrush kit. The Cambridge Public Library, in partnership with the African Bridge Network (ABN), is offering an AI Literacy Training designed to empower job seekers with the knowledge and skills to leverage AI tools responsibly and effectively for career advancement. Participants who complete all sessions will be eligible to receive a free refurbished laptop and wi-fi hotspot. The Commission on Immigrant Rights & Citizenship (CIRC) works to welcome, inform, connect, and support Cambridge’s immigrant community. CIRC staff provides information, referrals, and guidance to residents seeking assistance. The Commission collaborates with other city departments, community partners, and individuals that support immigrant rights and citizenship.

Property owners/residents are responsible for removing all snow and ice from sidewalks and accessible ramps next to their property following a storm per City Ordinance. Ice needs to be removed within 6 hours from the time it forms, and snow needs to be removed within 12 hours after snow stops falling during the day and before 1 p.m. if it snowed during the night, per City Ordinance. The fine for failing to comply with the City’s sidewalk clearance ordinances is $50/day for each day of non-compliance. Here are some helpful tips to follow.

Cycle to the Source is a 32-mile bike tour of the Cambridge Watershed. It is a chance to explore where your water comes from, how it is collected, and what steps are taken to ensure the city has clean drinking water.

In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday on Monday, January 16, 2023, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed and curbside collection service will be suspended. Additionally, parking meter/pay station payments will not be required.
