Volunteers Sought to Serve on the Cambridge Commission on Immigrant Rights and Citizenship
The Commission on Immigrant Rights & Citizenship (CIRC) works to welcome, inform, connect, and support Cambridge’s immigrant community. CIRC staff provides information, referrals, and guidance to residents seeking assistance. The Commission collaborates with other city departments, community partners, and individuals that support immigrant rights and citizenship.
Public Art
The Cambridge Arts Council and Gallery 344 are located in the renovated City Hall Annex at 344 Broadway. We welcome everyone to visit our space and to view the large-scale wall paintings created by Mike Glier for the Annex. We also invite you to view current and future projects at Gallery 344 attend our public events. The objective of the programming at Gallery 344 is to explore and advance the role of art in public life. We involve local, regional, and national artists in exhibitions and educational programming that engage our audience throughout the City and beyond.
CPL Presents: Yiyun Li (Main/Virtual)
Join the Cambridge Public Library in celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month by welcoming Yiyun Li, the author of the memoir Things in Nature Merely Grow, the winner of the 2026 Pulitzer Prize for Biography or Memoir, as well as several award-winning novels, including The Book of Goose. In addition to the Pulitzer Prize, Things in Nature Merely Grow was a finalist for both the National Book Award for Nonfiction and the PEN/Jean Stein Book Award as well as the recipient of the presitigious Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Nonfiction. After a reading from her work, Yiyun will appear in conversation with Grace Talusan, author of The Body Papers, winner of the Massachusetts Book Award for Nonfiction and the Restless Books Award for New Immigrant Writing. This hybrid event is cosponsored by the Cambridge Public Library Foundation. Registration is required.
CPD Partners with Multiple Agencies to Host Science of Public Safety Touch-A-Truck
On Wednesday, April 23rd the Police Department was grateful for the opportunity to join multiple City of Cambridge departments and regional partners out in front of Robert W. Healy Public Safety Building for the Science of Public Safety Touch-A-Truck Event.
Cycle to the Source
Cycle to the Source is a 32-mile bike tour of the Cambridge Watershed. It is a chance to explore where your water comes from, how it is collected, and what steps are taken to ensure the city has clean drinking water.
Closures and Service Information for Martin Luther King Jr. Day Holiday Monday January 16
In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday on Monday, January 16, 2023, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed and curbside collection service will be suspended. Additionally, parking meter/pay station payments will not be required.
CANCELED Evening Story Time (Valente)
We invite children and their grown-ups to join us for our monthly evening story time event. This program will run for 20-25 minutes, with songs, stories and rhymes. No registration is required. K-9 “Sonny” Joins the Cambridge PD After Graduating from Academy; Will Partner with Officer Corona
The Cambridge Police Department is pleased to announce the newest partners in the agency. Officer Omar Corona is responding to calls throughout the city involving suspicious items, possible explosive materials and firearms, and conducting other outreach with his new partner K-9 Sonny.
3RD Annual Spelling Bee Finals (Main)
Join us for the 3rd Annual Spelling Bee. The spelling bee aims to enhance the spelling and vocabulary skills of contestants while promoting reading, writing, and appreciation for the power of words. Community members are invited to attend the finals to provide support and cheer on contestants. Cosponsored by the Fletcher Maynard Academy, My Brother's Keeper Cambridge, Sisters with a Dream, and Cambridge Public Library.
Memorial Day Observance for Maritime Military Members
Join the City of Cambridge Department of Veterans Services (DVS) for a ceremony honoring military members lost in maritime battles and disasters. The observance will include a flower release, a moment of silence, and a recording of the United States Naval Academy Choir.
