Man Arrested Following Fatal Stabbing in Cambridge
Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Cambridge Police Commissioner Christine Elow have confirmed that Victor Rivas, 51, of South Boston has been arrested and charged with assault and battery, dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury following a fatal stabbing that occurred last night inside of a residential building on Norfolk Street in Cambridge.
City of Cambridge Closures and Service Information for Patriots' Day Holiday Monday April 20
In observance of the Patriots’ Day holiday on Monday, April 20, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed, and payments will not be required at City of Cambridge parking meters and pay stations.
Curbside collection of trash, recycling, food waste, and yard waste will be suspended on the holiday and one day behind for the remainder of the week. There will be no street cleaning on the Patriots’ Day holiday. Streets that would normally be cleaned on April 20 (third Monday of the month) will instead be cleaned on Wednesday, April 29.
859 Massachusetts Ave Project
The City of Cambridge has purchased the building located at 859 Massachusetts Avenue formerly owned by the Chamber of Commerce. The City has decided to move the family shelter, formerly located at 3 Bigelow Street, into this location.
