STAR Communities
STAR Communities assesses communities on their programs, policies and accomplishments that promote environmental, social and economic sustainability. Cambridge achieved the highest rating in the country from STAR Communities for its leadership in sustainability.
Water Board Members
The Cambridge Water Board is a five member board of Cambridge residents appointed by the City Manager, that act in an advisory role to the Managing Director of the Water Department. The Managing Director has full power to make all necessary repairs, extensions or improvements on the works, and to provide new supply pipes. All hydrants, standpipes and drinking fountains, established by the City, shall be constructed, and all repairs upon such hydrants, standpipes and drinking fountains made, and the streets repaired under authority of the Managing Director.

Volunteers Sought for Newly Created Cambridge LGBTQ+-Friendly Housing Task Force. Application Deadline 5-8-23.
The Task Force will consider opportunities for new or revised practices and procedures to improve LGBTQ+ persons’ access to, and inclusion in, existing housing, and will also evaluate possibilities for new housing to be more LGBTQ+-friendly.
