Smarter Cleanup for a Smart City
A cleaner, more connected Cambridge is here, by way of hands-free, solar-powered BigBelly bins. The new, foot-pedal operated trash and recycling compactors can provide free local WiFi, cut carbon emissions, and conserve City resources.
COA Expanded Programming
The pilot program, open to Cambridge residents ages 60 and older, will operate on Thursdays and Fridays from November 6, 2025 through January 16, 2026. During the pilot, the Russell Youth and Community Center (680 Huron Ave.) will be staffed and open from 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for older adults to participate in a selection of classes and to enjoy the building’s common area.
Baby Squirrel Season is Here
Two mating seasons occur per year for squirrels, one in late January or February and another in late May or June. Following a 44-day gestation, the first litter of three to five young is born in March or early April, and the second in August or September.
Cambridge Senior Center Celebrates 30th Anniversary
