Join City Arborist Dave Lefcourt and Assistant City Arborist Abby Bentley outside City Hall from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Members of the community are invited to come learn about Cambridge's Urban Forest and get a free seedling along with coloring book and crayon giveaways.

Join us for a morning walk at one of the most renowned birdwatching spots in Cambridge, Mount Auburn Cemetery! We will help you identify birds, learn birdwatching tips and tricks, and familiarize yourself with migratory birds as well as those that can be spotted all year round. A limited supply of binoculars will be available. The walk will meet at the Bird Sighting Board near the front entrance of Mt. Auburn Cemetery at 10:15 am. Registration is required. This event can only accommodate a certain number of participants. One registration is good for one person. If you do not register, you cannot participate. The City of Cambridge will host a series of events and feature a variety of stories throughout February in celebration of Black History Month. Throughout the month, programs led by the Public Library, Veterans Services, Office of Equity and Inclusion, and more will highlight Black theater, poetry, movies, musical traditions, and cuisine to celebrate Black heritage and culture.

The City of Cambridge has added its first Mack LR Electric trash collection truck to the City’s fleet, marking another critical step in helping the City meet its larger climate action and emissions reduction goals. This Mack LR Electric truck is the first fully electric trash truck in operation in Cambridge.

Effective Monday, March 22, the Massachusetts Travel Order will be replaced with a Travel Advisory. The new travel advisory will urge all persons entering Massachusetts, including returning residents, are advised to quarantine for 10 days upon their arrival if they have been out of the state for 24 hours or more.

The City of Cambridge is notifying residents, businesses, and visitors of multiple temporary street closures throughout Fourth of July weekend due to several large community events. These include the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular, the Fourth of July Weekend Block Party and Vintage Market, and the US Army’s 250th Birthday celebration.
