After moving to the U.S., Kamrun began taking English classes at the Community Learning Center and is now co-teaching an ESOL class.

The Public Information Office (PIO) acts as the main liaison between the City and the media. The PIO team is happy to assist journalists covering the City of Cambridge. Maria is the creator and host of the multi-award-winning PBS series Maria’s Portuguese Table, and the author of two beloved cookbooks: Azorean Cooking: From My Family Table to Yours and At My Portuguese Table, winner of the Bronze IPPY Award. Born in São Miguel Azores, Portugal and raised in the U.S., Maria has dedicated her career to preserving and sharing the rich culinary and cultural traditions of Portugal. With her signature warmth and heartfelt storytelling, she brings recipes to life—not just as food, but as vessels of memory, love, and heritage. She is now working on her next book “Baking with Love”, her first children’s cookbook, Maria returns to the kitchen of her childhood, recreating the sweet recipes she made side-by-side with her grandmother. May is Mental Health Awareness Month and the City of Cambridge is focused on supporting and promoting mental wellness to all its residents.

Install a raised intersection(s) in an underserved residential area with high volume traffic to calm streets and increase safety for pedestrian crossing.

The Hastings Room Reading Series and the Cambridge Public Library are excited to welcome two award-winning poets to the Library for a poetry reading. Denise Duhamel and Martha Collins will both read from recent works. The reading will take place in the Main Library's Community Room at 7 p.m. on May 1, 2025.
